You really did catch them at just the right moment, together still in their little rest or conspiracy yet each one taking off in flight! The sense of movement brings life to the picture!

I can appreciate the direction you took this poem in while answering the prompt -- not attempting to lay out a lofty kind of worldly peace but just your own personal peace instead. I could feel the sense of calm emanating through your words, could imagine how I would find comfort in these moments too.

Insightful! I love that you are challenging this traditional fairy tale set-up that in truth (as you say) teaches young girls that women are with very little agency, and that the only way for a boy to claim his manhood is by first claiming a woman for his prize. Whatever old-school charm these old stories hold, for many of us, it is imperative that we're also reminded that the themes and conventions they subscribe to are long outdated. Thank you for shining a light on a topic that likely doesn't register with many of us without a dedication to critical thinking as we absorb nostalgic media.

I'm not sure whether you intended it or not, but these pieces really do all feel as if they all belong in the same collection! The power of the wind and what it carries through the sky, so representative of each season -- blossoms, leaves, snow -- connects each haiku with a gossamer thread. Bonny to read.

This is so literal: the breath of fresh air you need is truly a breath of fresh air. You need the healing powers of the natural world, its chirping birds, its sunshine, its breeze. Stepping outside really can be a miracle tonic in a dark moment, can't it? I almost felt like my own lungs opened up as yours did.
