I know! It's so awful that the USA can't just suck it up and be a country with 51 states. Or 52 - Washington, D.C. deserves to be a state too! They have no representatives, which is so crazily out of order (but not really, America is truly shattered glass) for a country that claims to be perfect.
Thank you so much! Little me mostly watched badass women stories (what few Disney has, anyway) and when I eventually watched and read things like Snow White and the Seven Dwarves, Cinderella, and Sleeping Beauty, I was pretty shocked. I've always been trying to shed light on topics like these, so thanks for noticing!
We would have so much to learn from ourselves, if only we had a glimpse into the future! But all we can do is soothe our inner child, give them the reassurance they still need to hear. I think writing these kinds of letters is such an important healing exercise for us all, no matter how grown we are. It'd be worth repeating in five years time again -- and no doubt, your 18-year-old self, just about to graduate, will be calling out 13-year-old you for her currently undetectable naivete, too!
Oh-o, is this truly the end of this story, meant to be left as a brief flash fiction? I think his friends and classmates are being too harsh on his -- we all quite naturally change our attitude and quirks and personality to some degree in each new setting, depending on the emotions and character of our peers -- so I was skeptical of any "fakeness" he was being accused of and rooting for him instead!

Did anyone get my Alice in Wonderland joking line in the eighth stanza??
AAAAHHH this is so deep and true and AMAZING! To be a human (at least being me as a human) is definitely to be a poem. Thanks for writing this!
Wow! Where can we find this guy?
They were intended to read like that, but you put it so beautifully! Thanks!
