I love the line "We only celebrate the day our chains changed hands" because it's so true. America declared independence from one form of repression only to establish another.

I think that furries and therians should simply be treated like people. They are who they are, and the fact that so many of them are so openly able to express that is amazing. 

I personally have a friend who is a therian, and he is a great person. 

I would encourage every person, no matter what, to truly reevaluate their ideas of what a person "should be".

We as humans have all these standards that we hold our fellow humans to, but in reality, many of those standards are unreachable. The next time anyone reading this happens to find yourself doubting how to treat someone, keep in mind that they're human just like you.

Thanks! The next five poems tell a story about two characters in my book series. One was murdered, and each poem represents one of the five stages of grief the other goes through. I researched the five stages, so it should be somewhat accurate. 'The sunset' becomes a metaphor often used in the next few poems.
