Thank you so much! To be honest, I felt like someone was telling me the story as I was writing it and that I didn't know what was happening until it did.
I love that you've kept certain characters you've created and reimagined them as adults. It must be so cool to watch them grow up, once you complete a piece like this and take a step back and compare them to older works!
This poem really tells a complete story, while leaving so much up to the imagination at the same time. I like that -- when readers get to fill in a few of those details themselves. It was exciting to read of each new photograph, see what you had in store, how this girl's life story was going to play out. I especially loved your specific descriptions of people and places, like the lady at the camera shop, and details like the "tiny, rich-people sips." Made me laugh!
I love the line "Some people are simply rags; soaking up everyone’s water in an attempt to find their own;" Sometimes I find myself consuming other peoples words, art, music in order to better understand life and find my own truths.
YESSS i've only read the first one but it's super good (got scared cause I read it when I was like six years old) and gonna get back into the show! lemony snicket is a really good if maddeningly mysterious author; same with Zeno Alexander who wrote the Library of Ever series!
I am always having writer's block too! I try to write in a different style than normal when I can't seem to think of any ideas. Today I wrote a prose poem for the first time (there's a YWP workshop about it and it's really helpful!!!) and it was super fun, even if it might not have been my best ever. Hope that helps!
Thank you so much! Your comment is so sweet :) thanks for all the encouragement!

Yay I'm grateful that someone understands how I feel!
A tour de force! You took Sam's workshop and ran with it!
