Yeah! If you're interested Robert Browning's The Laboratory, My Last Duchess, and Porphyria's Lover are good examples of Gothic poems! Emily Dickinson is an amazing example, too! Since most of her poems are about death and some include themes like mortality and immortality, her works can be considered Gothic!
I love this so much!!! It's so self aware...Philosophical and funny is the best mix. This quote made me laugh out-loud because I've had the exact same though as your narrator: "After all, the 14-year-old version of her had decided that the worst thing you could be was boring, and she thought she should probably get back to that sentiment.
This poem was written to be interpreted in any way, though, to me when speaking of what’ll be left I interpret it as something Gothic like ghosts & the paranormal!
Goldenrose, I'm so happy you included a description of your intentions in creating this piece, because it allows me to tell you that your work sublimely communicated those intentions. The colorless depiction of the hand grasping for that rich color of the changing sun in the changing season, unwilling to let it go just yet, is just how I feel right now about the oncoming winter.
Every line of this poem is more rich and colorful than the last -- its own fall leaf! "A feast for senses": what a perfect way to describe the season, too. But undoubtedly your last stanza is the most beautiful, noting the promise of spring and rebirth in every falling leaf that marks the year's end.

I honestly didn't even know Gothic poems were a thing! Never written any but I did read Frankenstein by Mary Shelley for class and I really liked it
Thank you!

Haha, worst detective indeed! The image of the escaped prisoner in stripes "practicing" for Halloween was hilarious.
