I love that! Yeah, I kinda agree. I do love Keefe, but Silveny and Iggy are great!

You've elevated the blackbird into a purely mythical creature, so mysterious and wise. This piece really transported me into another realm.

I once made a woven bracelet just like this, one I didn't take off for years until it broke. It got me through some hard times (with the help of the quote I had lettered on it). Weird how we develop such strong attachments to "things," but especially when it's something you make, it can hold such a special place in your heart and feel so comfortingly familiar -- like an inanimate friend. You chose the perfect "witness" to your life to write about!

There's a sense of balance in your words, the short lines with the occasional lengthier ones, that reflects the theme of your poem well! I think we have all known a person like this in our lives: someone we're instantly and inexplicably drawn to, yet who appears distant, unreachable, too unlike ourselves for us to feel like we can make a true connection with them.

This is such a wonderful background for the boy from the challenge! Because the boy rushes past "you," I read this like someone was there on the sidewalk, imagining the life of this boy, sending him well wishes on his quest to be noticed, to be seen. And I could relate to him, too -- I was very much on the same journey when I was a kid. Lovely work.

For a while it was Keefe, but that type of character is super overused in books (I’ve noticed most of the characters in the series are), s0 probably Silveny or Iggy.

Me too. I tried rereading them like fifty times but eventually got bored (there IS such a thing as too much Keeper)!
