When I was younger,
I once awoke in the middle of the night
to a knock on my room’s door,
I got out of bed and put my feet to the floor.
There was a woman there,
she was adorned in a black dress,
Powder
grey powder blows into my eyes
my face
I cant breathe
I run through the house
Begging everyone to give me air
They stare
They laugh
I fall
It's going dark
and dark
In the dead of night, I begin to slumber
In my bed, I feel like a log of lumber
Whispers of wind fills the air
But im dreaming so I don't care
If I were dreaming,
would the cold and snow still bite my face
in the winter
when I went skiing?
If I were dreaming,
would the heat of June-July-August-now-October-too(?)
Snap, clap, bite
Maybe you'll wake up
to a small mercy raining heavily
on your roof
or maybe you won't.
Dreaming
To me
Is a space where you float
Where you soar
Where you fly.
There are no limits.
It's not the future
But sometimes the past.
They don't define you.
They free you.
