The old clothes you grew too big for

The leftovers you didn’t want to eat

The phone that was too cracked, too worn

The cups you just couldn’t bother to properly treat

Nature blessed us

Gave us a sun, water and air

Food, land and more

And so what did we give back?

We used the land given to us

The assignment is due in a couple months

Will the results be good or bad?

Either way I have plenty of time

I’ll work on it later.

The man stood, shovelling bloody corpses into his cart

In a former battleground, as ordered by superiors

He looked to the sky, wondering if what he was doing was morally good,

The caterpillar walked to the edge of the leaf

Fall  was coming, the skies were turning grey

He was scared of  the change, Didn’t know if it would be brief

In the middle of the great land

Performing was a small band

They were quite drunk

And their stage was junk

But to them, it was quite grand
