Sugar
You, like sugar, I desire
You, like sugar crystals, shine in the light
You, like sugar, make me high
And you, like sugar, make me crash
You, like sugar, I desire
You, like sugar crystals, shine in the light
You, like sugar, make me high
And you, like sugar, make me crash
How am I supposed to know
what love is like
when I'm questioning love itself
when I'm questioning me
the world
this point in time that has
rubbed the fear
frustration
anxiety
into my skin
Usually my poetry
sucks
and it will often be horrible
but that may just be my poems from
3rd grade
where we were learning online
and no one had any secrets in their family.
There's a haze out in the meadow before the cattle graze,
settled slow and clean and shining like a glaze,
the cattle move on in as the dew begins to dry,
the haze clears up fast like a tear in the eye.
smack crack whack
the clinking clanking sound of hammer hitting anvil
the hiss of a fire, the crackle of the coals
Congratulations.
The future is here
The world is at your fingertips.
Literally.
Swipe left for love.
Swipe right for loneliness disguised as company.
Scroll down for breaking news.
Patter, patter, boom
The sky is torn and shredded
The night is crying
As a teenager I am expected to conform.
Even though people tell you that you should be distant “stand out from the crowd” the second you do they tell you “what are you doing?”
Purple paper ripped out of my notebook
you're beautiful in all the ways
it says in my purple fountain pen
I taught my sister how to hold the pen
and she wrote me the note
Can you remember
Who you were
Before the world told you
Who you should be?

i was too much
for you
someday
I’ll be enough
For someone
You’re perfect just the way you are,
but here’s a serum for that scar.
Love yourself, embrace your face,
but first, some contour
you know, just in case.
This is for everyone
Who has criticized
The body
Of a child
Today
An eleven-year-old girl
Is sitting in a hospital bed
Because she can’t eat a meal
Without feeling guilty
