Personally, I like to slow down what's happening. Don't be afraid to use incomplete sentences or italics or bold to really emphasize what's happening, play-by-play. Really zone in on the senses (a) character(s) feeling, what they're thinking, etc. Put yourself in their situation and dump out, even if it's messy, the most raw reaction you can.

Ideally I want to be a well-known author... but sure, chemical engineering or forensic pathology works as a backup too.

Lol.

I want to be an elementary school music teacher! But I'd love to be an actor and a writer on the side because teachers make no money, but the ultimate goal is to teach people music!

Sure! First off, if your school allows which I think most do you can shadow someone if you haven't. If you have a friend in high school you can request them but if not you can still shadow. This will help you know the high school experience. If your school has a writing club, definitely join, mine does and it has been a great experience and given me new opportunities. If you think you are able to, sign up for challenging classes. My school has basic, standard, and accelerated and while being in all accelerated classes has been hard, it is great to challenge yourself. It is also easier to move down a level than up. As someone who is pretty serious about academics, this helped me meet like-minded people who I can both hang out and study with. Don't stress out too much, High school often has a bad stereotype but it's really not bad, at least for me as a freshman. Just do your homework, be open to making new friends, and manage your time well and you should be fine. Good luck!

It's interesting to look at this picture after reading your poem about the library. It looks nearly empty, but as I said before: You made it come alive!
