I don't have a favorite quote but this one from These Violent Delights by Chloe Gong makes me feel: “Memories were beastly little creatures, after all—they rose with the faintest whiff of nourishment."
I would definitely say the most important thing is taking advantage of everything. Lots of people feel too scared to take part in a lot of clubs or events, but especially in your first year that's really going to help you meet a lot of new people. And don't be scared to do too much - I did probably 6 or 7 clubs in 9th grade, and really grew to love a lot of them, and many will have trips to different places, which can be great inspiration. If you feel like you have too much to do, you can always stop going to a few, but make sure you don't get to a point where you're just doing nothing. And for writing in particular, a lot of schools will have a creative writing club or class; sign up for whatever feels right and you'll probably meet a lot of great people there, too.
omg I absolutely love this! The collection of things you have surrounding the subject is an amazing way to show us into your "world beyond" :)

I really want to be a ballet dancer when I grow up, but it's really unlikely that will happen so I might want to be journalist. I don't really know.
