Today

Today I've walked around school in a haze

I don't know what to do

How to feel

I don't understand

How he won again

I don't think I want to understand

How people can think this is who should be running our country

Right now I cannot try to understand

All I can feel is fear

All I can hear is "Trump Wins"

Those words I've been dreading to hear

Those words so many people are celebrating

I try not to cause a scene

To be to0 political

I try not to start a fight

But I hurt too much to not speak up

And my wounds cannot be healed

Not until the man is out of office

So I guess I'll have to wait four years

How could we do this?

We the people,

Elect a convicted felon?

An abuser?

How can I go to class like any other day

When it's not any other day?

How can I continue to live in a country

Where being a woman means having your rights stripped away?

How can this be what America has come to?

But United we stand, divided we fall I guess.

  • Halloween

    I miss Halloween

    Not because it changed

    But I did

I miss going with my parents and my brother

And stuffing my face with candy

I miss meticulously planning out a costume

  • The Season of Death

    Death reaches his hands

    Shrivels leaves

    Rips them up

Soon the ghosts and ghouls will scream

They've waited all year for Halloween

But this death is not a scary thought

    In fact it's comforting
