A house stands on crooked stilts 

On the edge of a cliff 

Braced only by 

Wood beams and 

Rocky shoulders 

10 years i've spent here
this cottage by the sea

these 10 years i've spent here
have become a part of me

long i've stood on this shore
the tides come in and out
and so my heartbeat follows:
in and out

The ocean is swallowing the sun. 

Something says

"Stay"

Something cold and light whispers

"Go"

Something somewhere dark and deep rumbles

"Come"

Something calls to me

Freezes my bones

On a rocky cliff 

where the grass sways in the wind 

and the sky never seems to end, 

there lies a silent house  

where a silent woman lives. 

She does not need to speak; 

So many skies lived upon the ocean

Stars sparkled above and beneath

Fish and birds glide alike

Foam and clouds, fluffy and white

Life thrived below with colors

A gentle summer wind 

blows

Waking me from my

Silent

Sleep.

I feel small

Cracks

And hear small

Pops 

In my body. A 

Satisfying

Sensation

I’ve never liked the seaside

fearing the riptide

that takes me away

I’ve never liked the high dive

jumping

up

up

up

then down into the deep

nothing

Yet here I decide

waves

   wash 

       against

               the

Noah stared out the window of his house at the beautiful beach before him. Gentle waves brushed the shore, dragging sand away when they left. The sky overhead was blue and clear, and the soft scent of saltwater filled the air.
