You look into the mirror
Disappointed
By what you see
All the flaws stand out like red flags
As you criticize your body
Despising every imperfection
But the mirror lies
There’s no ‘me’ in mirror
The mirror doesn’t show your inner self
The mirror hides
What truly matters
You are enough
Your personality
Is what matters
The word ‘ugly’
Is a word of cruelty
You’ve only seen the outside
And that means nothing
The mirror lies
It only hides
What truly matters
You are perfect
Just the way you are.

The message behind this is such a powerful one, and I could feel your passionate conviction for it through your words! It can seem impossible to dismiss what the mirror shouts at us, but clearly, you've exposed it as a foe and a phony. I hope others get a chance to read this today and feel their perspectives on their self-worth shift, if only for a little while. We all deserve a reprieve from the mirror's harsh taunts.
