I would love to experiment with creating song lyrics, and turning them into small songs! I don’t have any instruments (currently), but I’ll definitely try creating lyrics at some point!
I'm apprehensive. I enjoy the summer and my free time and getting to create my own schedule, so going back to school is kinda sad. Also I'm starting 11th grade which is notoriously known as the worst year of high school so I'll see how it goes.
Yes! And I've even tried turning my poems into little songs or give them a melody if they rhyme. I definitly hope you try writing lyrics and experiment with musisc if you like it's super fun :D
I'm honestly very excited for my junior year this year! Finally get to take classes I'm intersted in like screen writing (yay!) Nervous for the work load though and managing classes with clubs. to anyone starting a new chapter o school (or a new grade!) give yourself some grace and patience! also best of look hehe
I wish it was summer still, to be honest. Except this year im taking a lot of history and English classes which I’m excited for! Especially this creative writing class I signed up for, hopefully it’s as good as it sounds.
Wow, how's your senior year going? I started eighth grade today, and so far it's been stressful but fun. I know it'll be second nature soon, and it's not so different from last year, but it feels like forever since I've been in school haha. I'm super excited for cross country to start, because I love to run (at least in theory. Ask me while I'm doing it and I may not say the same).
These are so stark and sharp in resolution, and beautiful in their composition! I know it's not your usual subject matter, but I would absolutely love to see you write a poem (even just a haiku) inspired by these!
Dearest Molly, I believe we are kindred souls! Sometimes (so very oddly) there is nothing better than the feeling of wet grass between your toes, the tasteless taste of drizzle on your tongue, dreary clouds when you're feeling a bit dreary yourself... It can truly clear the mind. Have you ever tried a white noise machine with rain sounds while trying to sleep? So pleasant!
This was lovely to read: It was as if a narrator's voice were opening the first scenes of a movie.
What poignant yet understated commentary this is on the topic of climate change… that impending force not only of nature but of our nurturing. Yet you must, of course, carry on – what else are you to do, most days? From snowy Vermont, I can only imagine how powerless that must make you feel. I only hope it does not forever strip you of the will to carry on, in your own life and in the fight for a better future for this planet, someday.
You so easily brought emotion out of me in this response, so I can tell you: strong and evocative work. I hope you are safe and hunkered down right now.
Ah I was trying to copy/paste my favorite line here but I can't decide what to cut off so I'd just be reposting the entire poem! I love it all
