Goldenrose, I'm so happy you included a description of your intentions in creating this piece, because it allows me to tell you that your work sublimely communicated those intentions. The colorless depiction of the hand grasping for that rich color of the changing sun in the changing season, unwilling to let it go just yet, is just how I feel right now about the oncoming winter.
Every line of this poem is more rich and colorful than the last -- its own fall leaf! "A feast for senses": what a perfect way to describe the season, too. But undoubtedly your last stanza is the most beautiful, noting the promise of spring and rebirth in every falling leaf that marks the year's end.
"Screen Print" is this week's featured visual art on vtdigger.org, up now in their Life & Culture section: vtdigger.org/life-culture Check it out, everyone!
"Things to Remember" is this week's featured poem on vtdigger.org, up now in their Life & Culture section: vtdigger.org/life-culture Check it out, everyone!

Haha, worst detective indeed! The image of the escaped prisoner in stripes "practicing" for Halloween was hilarious.

This is beautifully written! The characterization is incredible.
I read that one as well, so good! it pulls at every string in my body.
What a storyteller you are! Is this the start of a series? I hope so. Well done and welcome to YWP!
