Democracy is fragile as a house of cards with many, many layers
Many, many pieces
Many, many things that could go wrong
The slightest breath, enough to bring the whole thing crumbling
Democracy has survived a poke or prod here and there
We've been able to prop that top layer back up and it has seen another day
But in January
Democracy took a hit from a semi-truck with a baby at the wheel
Actually, democracy, beginning in January has taken and continues to take many hits
From semi-trucks with babies at the wheel
Democracy has thousands of cards
It is going to be difficult to rebuild
It will take time and effort
But I do believe, with strong cards
Supporting each other through their differences
We will rebuild
Stronger than ever

I adore the first line to this! I find it so creative that you compared our democracy to a house of cards.
Thank you!
