what would there be without a friend
a friend who cares and understands
you are my light
my path to happiness
your abundance of sunshine fills my heart with words of meaning
holding hands while walking down dirt roads filled with memories
times of laughter filling the air with smiles
the joy of seeing you after only a day has passed, and still longing to see you more
the funny moments
forever cherished
the thought of losing you far back in my mind
living in the here and now
only soaking in your presence when presented
my heart forever filled with your kind words
my favorite person
you're like watermelon on a hot summer day
so refreshing
stay close
don't leave
I need you
stay close to me
until we grow old
stories we tell to our kids of meaningful adventures
I will love you tell the day I die
even if you hurt my light inside
I'm never leaving, your stuck with me.

This fills me with so much joy! What a treasure a good friend can be. I love to see the different kinds of love explored, because I don't think they're touched on enough in popular media -- and truly, the affection we have for a friend can be just as fierce and loyal and brimming as romantic love. You've clearly proven so!
Thank you! this piece was inspired by my best friend obviously, its always meaningful to write about it and thought I should as friends always mean a great lot to people in life.
