Scarry Night

"I feel so bad he's sick today," my 5th grade teacher thoughtfully said, "and Halloween is his favorite holiday. I hope he'll still get to trick-or-treat." I could hear my teacher from across the room.

There is one thing that can overcome any obstacle in the world.
There is one thing that no one can take away from you.
There is one thing that can get better over time.

And that one thing... is the strength inside you.

Sometimes, I lie in bed, wondering.

Sometimes, I sit at my dining room table, wondering.

Sometimes, I read a book but understand no words, and why?

Because I’m wondering.

My tears slid down my face, reddening my eyes. I watch as the cloth I was holding to my wound caught more and more blood. We drove down winding roads and curving paths until I spotted the sign: CATHOLIC MEDICAL CENTER.

When I'm feeling blah, I like to drink 3 gallons of chocolate milk.

When I'm feeling blah, I wear comfy clothes that are made of silk.

When I'm feeling blah, I eat 2 chocolate cakes and watch TV all day.
