December 2nd
Warm, cozy, comfortable.
I was snuggled in my abundance of fuzzy blankets,
Head barely peeking out from underneath.
My dog nestled next to me
Snoring softly.
All I want to do is stay
Stay in the warmth and coziness of my safe haven.
I sigh as I reluctantly get up
Painfully aware of the chill in the air
Knowing deep down there’s snow on the ground.
I walk to the door,
Open it knowing it’s well below freezing.
My breath catches from the first inhale
The cold air piercing my lungs and shocking my system so I jolt awake
Coming out of my sleepiness.
The world becomes blurry as I exhale,
The air fogging in front of my eyes,
Freezing as I breathe.
I shut the door and turn,
Ready for my cup of morning coffee
Ready for the warmth and comfort after the shock of wintry air and scenery.
Ready for another day.
