Where is your hope?

Where does your hope lie?

Is it in the gentle pelt of rain?

Where does your hope lie?

In something solid that remains?

Where does your hope lie?

Is it in the food you eat

Or the cloud-free sky

The pitter-pat of a child’s feet

A whisper as the wind blows by

Does your hope remain in the people around you?

Though one day they may not be

Or has your hope been put in Someone bigger

The Someone who will stay.

Turning away from an old life

    Tricky and sometimes with strife

It’s full of things you think you want

Sometimes it will dare to taunt

Why must the things we want be of danger

“Yeah, haha.”, remarked Danny, quickly looking away from the uncomfortable outcome.
