Vermont's Orchestras

Have you ever heard one of Vermont's orchestras?

I have.

It is an absolutely wonderful experience.

To be able to hear the music that is played for us.

The intensifying rumbles of the timpani,

the soft strums from the harp that could really be twinkling,

the fluttering melodies of the flute,

the beautiful harmonies played in the cellos,

the resounding crashes of the symbols,

the swift runs from the violins,

the elegant notes played by the trumpets,

the booming of the tuba,

the thunderous trombones,

the flams and rolls from the snare drum,

the pedaled moments on the piano,

the different noises coming from the percussion.

There were large crescendos,

followed by an area with a dynamic marking as piano (the musical term for quiet).

There were spots where you were on the edge of your seat,

while others would just make you want to fall asleep.

Vermont has a huge opportunity to make music!

And we took it.

Vermont has orchestras; great ones,

so the next time there's a concert,

you should definitely take the opportunity.
