My best friends live in New York
And Colorado
I live
in Minnesota
They are miles away
And
Sometimes
I feel lost without them.
It’s hard for me
to find people
I like to be around
And
I haven’t found any
who live in Minnesota
yet.
But I’m working on it
And I think I’ll figure it out
someday.
Music makes me feel
alive.
It doesn't always make me
happy
but
it always fills me with energy.
Frustration.
When I can't get it right.
Passion.
I think it's hard to be 13.
Everyone acts weird.
They used to be nice, now they are mean.
You used to trust them, now they lie to you and spread rumors about you.
They used to be funny, now they are sarcastic.
“Stop being a nerd”
“You’re the smartest kid in the grade”
“You’re a child prodigy”
“You’re an academic weapon”
Okay.
Fine.
Maybe I am.
