My Life In Three Phases

Phase One:

School:
Hiding
Under the desk
In the bathroom
Scared of my teachers
They’ll find me soon
And send me to the vice-principal

Driving:
Sitting in traffic
Waiting
Listening  to the radio
Waiting
Is the air conditioning working?

Fun:
Museums
The pool
The beach
The aquarium
Playing with my baby sister
Because I finished my German homework

May:
The baby sister
I always wished for
SO CUTE!!!
Growing into a toddler
A princess loving one
So different from me
I love her more than anything

Reading:
Impossible
Torture
Until suddenly it isn't
I can read
Magic Treehouse
The View From Saturday
The Rooftopers
Fish in a Tree

Phase Two:

School:
Field trips
Raising brook trout
Reading the Odyssey
Calculating the ratio for the perfect mullet
Bungee jumping barbies
Giant beanbag chairs
Sugaring

 Driving:
Winding roads
Potholes
Trees
Telephone poles going by

Fun:
Sledding
Swimming in the pond
Playing with the goats
Playing with Isla
And Nori
And Ben
And Lucy
And Harry
And Liam
And Benjamin

May:
Growing
A preschooler
Making friends
Starting my school
Copying me
A bit annoying
But I still love her more than anything

Reading:
The Goat
Wonder
The War That Saved My Life
The Penderwicks
The Magic Misfits
I wish I could meet the characters
And go to the places
I love Harry Potter
Wait, no, I hate Harry Potter
Wait, no, I love it

Phase 3:

School:
Fear
Of the other students
Of myself
Loneliness
Dreading every day
Straight As

Driving:
Push the break
Take off the parking brake
Put the car into gear
Push the gas
Turn the steering wheel
Around a curve
Down a hill

Fun:
Singing
Writing
Skiing
Skating
Baking
Hiking
Playing with my little sister and her friends
Knowing it will all end on Monday

May:
My best friend
Sometimes my only friend
My other half
We read each other's minds
Literally
We have the same weird sense of humor
We read the same books
And make up stories together
I love her more than I ever thought was possible

Reading:
A respite
The only place I can go sometimes
Is into a book
The only place I feel calm
I’m glad I can’t meet the characters
Too nerve wracking
The Problim Children
Music For Tigers
The Vanderbeekers
Tune It Out
House in the Cerulean Sea
Elenor Oliphant is Completely Fine
