Goodbye, My Rainbow

When I tilt my head back,

and take a peek into the world,

I can see it.

The colors.

Red, orange, yellow, green, blue,

and purple.

A line of them, slightly curved at the ends.

Why, it's a rainbow.

I run, letting nothing hold me back.

I run,

and run,

and run, until I am standing right at the bottom, wondering what to do next.

It's a path, calling for me to follow.

So I do.

I step one foot after another,

up and up and up,

until the whole world is in my eyesight.

I have reached my peak.

I sit, taking in the feeling of being on a rainbow.

Listening to the most powerful silence,

touching the most invisible surface,

tasting the bitter wind.

Once the dark sky returns,

it is time to say farewell.

See you soon, colors.

See you soon, birds.

I slide down the rainbow and land gracefully on the other side.

One last look.

I walk ahead, but stop.

One last glance.

My whole body turns.

Goodbye, my rainbow.
