Never forget this moment my child, the moment you began to feel,
The moment you first felt alive.
It was night,
And you felt the burden of the world on your shoulders,
But the horizon at your fingertips.
As the sun began to droop below the mountains,
The last rays struggling against the sky,
You felt golden light kissing your face like a goodbye
And you waved as the moon rose,
Watched as she took her rightful place
As guardian to the weary travelers of the night.
It was the first day you knew that although the sun was gone,
It would rise again tomorrow.
