An excerpt from 'Savior's Regime' - Day 201

Day 201: July 10th, 2119
“I used to forget the color of her eyes, or the sound of her laugh.” Lawrence says guiltily. “So I wrote everything I knew down, every detail. How her ocean eyes used to light up when she talked about the future, the future we were supposed to have together. Or the way she talked too much when she was nervous. Oh, her anxious ramblings could go on for hours…” His voice drifted off, his scarred hands shaking.

Kieth listened intently, waiting for him to say more, but Lawrence just sat there solemnly. “Wow, you must’ve really loved her.” Kieth replied. He sighed and looked directly into Keith’s eyes. “Yeah, I really did love her. And I thought I had her. For a slight moment, we were meant to be forever. We became so close in such a short time that we believed nothing could separate us. We tried to defy our fate and the universe found ways to tear us apart. I can’t believe I lost her.” Lawrence paused, his face contorted in pain. “Strange, isn’t it?” He asked.

“What’s strange?” Kieth replied, confused. “How you can be so desperately in love with someone you haven’t spoken to or seen in years.” Lawrence stated. “You either love them forever or you never loved them initially. I guess love doesn’t leave just because the person does.”

This is an excerpt from 'Savior's Regime', a book I am writing. I hope you enjoy! :)

  • The Sunset

This is the first poem in my poetry anthology, The Sun Will Rise Again.

I was eight when it began.

I was left clinging to sunshine

As the sun descended below the horizon.

  • I write for the broken

I would never admit it, but

I’m broken. I have lived through a hell you only see in your nightmares. I was born into a world of agony and have stayed silent on the darkest of nights.
