Dismissing Their Concern

Dismissing Their Concern

You dismiss their concern with a well rehearsed "I'm fine".

While looking for the strength to inhale one more time and not cry.

You say you're fine,

but everytime those two words come out of your mouth,

You can feel your insides spin around.

But you don't feel the courage to say the words "I need support."

They see the sadness in your eyes,

but you just say it's because you've  had a bad day.

You aren't really ok but you have adjusted to only ever being there for others. Not yourself.

For at the end of the day,

all you have to say is "I'm fine".

You just have to pull it together enough to dismiss their concern.

They call it loving a narcissist.

When you love somebody so deeply,

but you can't feel the love they claim to have for you.

You're raised being told they love you.

  • My Inner Beauty

    I was so undeserving,

And yet you were so persistent.

    I pushed, and you pulled.

    I cried; you held me.

    My heart was broken,

    you repaired it.

When I needed it most, you were there,

  • Living Vs. Surviving

Many kids know what it feels like to be able to live.

No fear, worries, or responsibilities in front of them.

From a young age, I was never one of those kids.

    I grew up too fast.
