bullets bleed

one by one
through the city streets
she didn’t see
she didn’t scream
she fell
fast
asleep
chaos bleeds
released
scream by scream
out into the city streets
now all can see
her body seeps
they cry
she was
only
three
eyes bleed
released
tear by tear
onto the city streets
no one could see
the monster creeps
how
could
they
hurt her?
“Stay away,” they’ll say
“She doesn’t think right,”
“She has horrible visions,
incomprehensible to the mind.”
She is disorder
She is me
A single thought blossoms
into sweet insanity
A moment you can’t make
a feeling you can’t shake
I am the monster
they tell you is fake
I am the apathy
leftover from hate
I’m what they hate
that’s what they’ll say
Do you remember the time
that you and I
spent in front of the TV?
We watched Disney cartoons
and the world around us
stopped.
I remember
when nothing else mattered
and we could just be.
