Autumn or fall?
It depends on how you look at it;
For some, it is used interchangeably.
For others, "fall", simply because it is easier to spell and quicker to say
But also
Because it is, after all,
The time when the leaves fall
And everything is new
A time to recharge
To get ready
To anticipate the rest of the year
Like an intermission
Before winter puts on its show once again.
Autumn is fancier
It sounds beautiful
Majestic
Like a magical time of year in transitioning and in reflection,
Which, essentially,
Is what this season is.
Fall is quick
It's a candle snuffed out when the first snowflake lands on your nose
It's leaves hurrying off their branches and changing color rapidly.
To me, fall is like the snap of your fingers;
Fast
And sharp
But beautiful all the same.
Autumn is crisp
It is warm apple cider
And leaf after leaf floating to the ground to make piles of orange and red and yellow
Golden
Like puddles of colorful sunlight
Autumn is transition
Like long cursive written by quill
Written precariously, perhaps
But elegant.
However you use it,
Autumn, or fall
Showcases the beauty on display
The color
The crisp, cool air
The chilly weather
The pumpkins
And Halloween decorations
And cheerful moods.
For me
Autumn or fall
Is reflection.
It's something
You use
To look back
And think
"Where was I this time last year?"
And marvel at how you've grown
And the mistakes you've made
And your regrets
And triumphs
Victories
Friendships
And goals for the future
And to celebrate
This incredible time
This incredible season
Where everything is golden
And appreciate it, fully,
And live in the moment,
Because before you know it
In the blink of an eye
Winter has reclaimed the year once again
Blanketing the colors and awe with snowy curtains.

This poem is so beautiful in an eye capturing way! I love your comparison of Fall and Autumn all while showing the theme of change fall (or Autumn!!) can bring!
Thank you! That's totally what I was going for. Thanks for your opinion, it means a lot!
