All The Time in The World

I am tired.

If I have to come up with one more answer, I might never speak again.

If only I could relax,

taste the salt of the sea and the warmth of the sun against my neck

contrasting the sharp grey corners of the desk I occupy.

If only I could lie down and never get up

my heartbeat one with Mother Earth's

I would have all the time in the world to think

yet I would think about nothing.

I would be lazy as the lapping waves.

I would enjoy it enormously

if only, if only.

Posted in response to the challenge Lazy.

A POEM BY MY SISTER <3:

    dew drips from a leaf

a leaf that a little caterpillar walks on

    it will soon be transformed

    into a majestic pollinator

its climbs to a branch on a small tree
