Payton, I'm sorry to hear that. Thank you for sharing with us. I can feel the bluster, the turmoil, through your art, and I hope it's able to bring you a measure of comfort. Your work reveals great emotion.
Your similes & metaphors, allusions, vocabulary are always unmatched. As are your themes: love, friendship, religion-- you often hit on many all at once. This touched me in a very specific way. Keep doing what you're doing.
Ahh, "the boxes are in the corner" has me thinking of the sometimes intentional and sometimes unintentional act of compartmentalization... Right, it sure does feel like thoughts and memories and questions can begin to loom over our shoulders some days, stack up like they would in a stuffy attic full of junk you can't let go of. The last lines of this poem, an open window to escape from, was the perfect image to end on.
What a thoughtful story! It's been so long since I've read anything featuring animals as characters, so that was a nice suprise. There's a real sense of community in this rabbit-world that you've built, and by the end we can see how just how much of a compassionate individual Bonnie is. I think there's so much to be expanded on if you carry on the story, you've set yourself up so well already!
This is really perfectly relatable, you've written it in a beautifully simple and matter of fact way, so that it somehow still feels nostalgic. I'm a senior this year so the counting down time really hit home :) Those small moments you've written down are so perfectly important. Beautiful job :)
This is just one poem from my collection im writing. I really appreciate you commenting because it makes me feel like people actually read my work. So thank you.
I do the same! Though, your poetry and photography are AMAZING!!! Your piece ‘believe’ is wonderful, and well written! The way you wrote about perfection was so beautiful!
All I used was prismacolor colored pencils from art class!
