I really hope she wins

I knew this was coming

I knew he would run again

Every four years

And yet it still comes

With a shock

Then she stepped in

Giving me hope

Calling him out

If she wins

She will be

The first woman president

It's crazy

That there have already

Been 46

Presidents

And not a single woman

If she wins

This country

Our home

will survive

We will grow

We will change

For the good

If he wins

I'm scared

The mess

The damage

He will lead our country to

It scares me

The things he says

I'm worried

For young women

Non-Christian people

Non-straight or cis people

Anyone who isn't like him

Who knew

A little kid like me

Would think about that

The fear I feel about him

The joy and pride I feel about her

Representing our country

Leading our country

Making us safe

I really hope

She wins

  • Silver arms

    Silver arms

    Reaching up

    Delicate

    And yet bearing

    Weight

    A big middle

    Rough

    Covered in patterned skin

    Big enough

    That my arms don't

    Wrap around

    The course outside

  • The moon

Bathing me in a ghoulish glow

    Brightening the dark

    Staring at me

    Barely disturbed

    All the way up there

    Floating among

    The stars

    Simply being

Bathing me in a ghoulish glow

    I love the moon
