summer means
sun-kissed still-warm
strawberry, red -
not lip gloss but staining my everything
as I eat it slower than snails, slower than I should
while lounging on a rock
river mermaid come to life
sunscreen fading into my skin, into
the air,
pondering life in the buttery sunbeam
eating a strawberry
that's dripping down my white shirtsleeves
reveling in summer.

Ahh! I love poetry about such small, pure moments, taken and studied and squeezed for all their color and joy. You got every drop out of this memory that you could, every detail, and it couldn't sum up summer any better!
Thank you!
