nauset beach at dusk
Dark, cold water crashes against the shore
Shallow footprints erased by the waves
Outlying stars reflected on midnight water.
A gentle breeze loops in and out of the tall grass,
Playing hide and seek with the wind. -
Listen Up
Broken to pieces,
Shattered like a mirror,
A perfect world, now a dystopian fantasy.
A world in disarray, a solution far from known.
Numbered days, slipping through our hands like sand. -
lessons from my father
Snow swirled, and the wind howled like the lonely wolf.
A young girl, awoken from a trance alone in the dark
A shadow moves through the hall, and down the stairs
She followed, her feet chilled from the icy floors. -
A Lost Art
Letters,
Innocent, unbroken hearts spilled onto paper,
Writing, running, dancing across the page.
Delicate like the spider weaves her web,
Each line, each word deliberate.
