Caught in the midst of it all

Slipping past pages

Escaping the eyes of others

Climbing gently out the window

A shadow covers the blue moon

Indicating a change

The moonstone shined the color of

Wild blue, yonder

A foggy harbor

Darkness unveils in the sky

Enveloping, trapping, strangling me

Words pitter patter into my brain

Tiny as rain

Strong as a truck

Is cooking hard? 

I glanced at Mom

She laughed

Hands still in motion

Cleaning the utensils

Well, is studying hard?

Sometimes

Dad is a collector of rainbows,  

Pictures taken to capture and frame  

A small wonder performed on the world. 

He says it’s like saving up luck in our lives.
