I have always been a teacher's pet,
a straight to the point,
a smart answer,
collective applause,
the one to beat,
the first to it.
I have always been a go-getter,
a "how do you do it",
a "please help", -
Happy 18th
If 18 wasn't such a silly number,
if I had savored years before,
now that bounds have broken,
I'm left with the regret of hindsight.
No more walking through the halls.
No more soft and fumbled numbers. -
Midnight man
The midnight man,
his eyes and neck lay tucked,
His walk becomes limped echo,
A mind that strays the clump.
He pulls up as I pull in,
I too lost in becoming,
his objective is a saner sin, -
Our Grinch may steal snow this Christmas
Our Grinch may steal snow this coming December 25th.
He sat me down to vent about the world that's gone amiss.
Our Grinch has been so taxed by smoke that he, too, has turned gray. -
Touched
Hurt and hurt again,
feeling less alive,
struck down by those who taught me,
In what means I should survive.
"lay low and feel the pressure",
as I walk with shoes in hand,
tiptoeing around the little world, -
Car breaks
I hate the way I feel,
when I think of things,
I don't want to think.
