Goldenrose

I watch you shine, so full of light,
While I am stuck here at night,
Once I had dreams, a path so clear,
But now I hide my pain and fear.

The wind sings-
she gathers stories, whispering tales of people lost long ago.

she tells them to me
but I forget as soon as she is gone.

I want to breathe 

Both with looming skyscrapers, 

And mountains stretched high, 

To feel the sun 

Smiling on my skin, 

Sometimes the drive home 
is just too good to end. 
The darkness envelops 
the road ahead, 
the road behind, 
the fields of either side. 
Nothing can reach me here.  

"You're changing," I whisper to myself.  

"So am I," whispers the wind.  

I think change is good.  

Change is the way the air cools at night.  

Change is the way I'm back at school again.  

It's only been about four weeks since President Joe Biden announced he would end his reelection campaign, and endorsed Vice President Kamala Harris for President.
