When I was younger,

I once awoke in the middle of the night

to a knock on my room’s door,

I got out of bed and put my feet to the floor.

There was a woman there,

she was adorned in a black dress,

the leaves are turning the color of your eyes again 

as they fall to the ground i take care not to step on them 

break their fragile spines, crack their delicate skin 

Hills lit golden in the valley of fog 

It creeps and envelops 

Heavy moisture weighing down 

To cover folds of the earth like a blanket 

I think our world knows

How easily we’re overwhelmed,

How quickly tiny scrapes

Can become full-blown scars,

How we need seven good comments

i was late for school because i ignored my alarm 

i ignored my alarm because i stayed up late 

i stayed up late because i pretended i did not have homework 

     Larry Luria was not the type to march over to a stranger, introduce his hand to shake, and offer his business card. Heck, he didn’t even have the money to make a business card.
