Looking through the window of a cafe, I see my reflection. Long blonde hair, and light blue eyes. The wind blows, messing up my perfectly styled hair, and as I go to fix it, I realize my reflection isn't following my movements. Rubbing my eyes and blinking a couple times, my ‘reflections’ head bends at an odd angle, its eyes wide, just staring. At me. My reflection smiles creepily, I touch my mouth to see if I'm smiling; I'm not. I look behind me to see if it's staring at someone else, but no one is there. The street is empty. As I go to look back at my ‘reflection,’ I realize it came closer when I looked away. I take a step back, and this thing takes a step forward, coming closer to the glass window. As I keep taking steps backward, it keeps taking steps forward. By the time my ‘reflection’ is right at the window, I'm in the middle of the street. I spin around, cars are honking and swerving around me; people are yelling out their windows to get out of the road. I turn to see if my ‘reflection’ is still there, but I don't see one at all, so I turn and run.
I'm not sure where I'm going but I know I'm never going back to that cafe. The wind blows again, and I huddle further into my jacket. People are yelling at me to slow down and watch where I'm going, but I don't care. I turn to see if anyone is following me when I run into something hard- a window outside a gift shop. I immediately avoid looking at my reflection, but when curiosity gets the better of me, I look. My reflection is normal. I take a deep breath and laugh, realizing I was just imagining everything I saw. My smile fades quickly when I see two reflections of me. I look up from my huddled position in my coat and look right; I see myself. It's smiling at me. I wasn't imagining things, everything was real. I scream.
