I am from muddy floors, small rooms, and loose bricks.

I am from towering buildings, bustling streets, and street vendors.
I am from the strong smell of sewage hanging in the air.
I am from murky rivers.

I am from a mother who works day and night, brothers who leave on trains, 
and a little sister who does her best to survive.
I am from ‘don’t trust people’, find help where you can, and rely on yourself.
I am from raising my little sister.

I am from arriving in a new place I didn’t want to be in, on a train I was never meant to be on.
I am from meeting friends in unexpected places.

I am from strong instincts that keep me alive.
