Intricately designed silverware sat at a long table
Carefully placed next to ornate porcelain china
Silver goblets so shiny you could use them as a silvery mirror
A perfect reflection
Showing a perfect complexion
Warm candles’ strong glow,
Bright as the sun
Lighting up the vast chateau
With seats neatly lined in a row
The silverware and goblets are tarnished
No longer able to see your reflection
Hiding your broken perfection
Cobwebs collect under the plates
And in the corners of the vast empty room
All the seats are empty leaving too much space
Cold moonlight shines through the windows
Casting harsh shadows
One small candle flicker, flicker, flickers
And dies out
