this summer holds many adventures waiting:
graduation
next week I leave this school behind
the begining of an end
ice cream and treats with friends
playing with the neighborhood dogs
I will be
once again on the road
traveling across this country
driving, campfires:
s'mores and songs
long sunny days
hiking in the desert:
long, hot days

winter's coming on fast-
better chop enough wood.
pluck the last fruits of the harvest-
then say goodnight to the garden,
resting under a blanket of leaves and love.

Do you think people 100 years ago, in rural Vermont, looked up at the sky, at the milky way, the moon and all the stars? Do you think they marveled at them, and taught their children the constellations?
