Stolen Constellations

On that night, I stole the stars of the galaxy. Billions of them, each one unique, and put them into her eyes.

They glittered like sprinkled candy apples, calling out to you on the aisles of the grocery store. But hiding in its goodness and sweetness are calories, hundreds of them flowing into your body as you gulp each piece down your throat.

I turned away. The stars in her eyes, they tempted me like no other, its tendrils attaching itself to my spine and twisting me back around to look at them.

But no, it wasn’t her.
