It’s hard to know
If spring is really here
New England is one of those places
Where frost lines the ground
But by noon it’s 50 and sunny
I’ve always said
Spring really only starts when the flowers start to bud
And green shows itself again
But in Puerto Rico
Green stays all year
The palm trees sway
The invasive pines invade
Parcha a mix of orange and yellow
In my glass every day
In Puerto Rico
It’s just dry season
Rainy season
And hurricane season
At least in Vermont
We don’t get the last season mentioned above
I love spring
The birds start singing again
Small animals start popping their heads up into the world
Summer is so close and school is almost over
Spring smells of fresh earth
Smiling after a long nap under a grey cold sky
In my opinion
Spring is the best season
And Puerto Rico
I’ll just visit you when it’s cold
Outside my front door
