Silver Rings

I'm wide awake with little pride
I'd rather be asleep.
an yet the voices in my head
for hours had to peep.
They told me stories so intruiging
doubts from in my heart,
they whispered reassuring words
As i gazed into the dark.
I'm wide awake but barely brave
if so I'd shut my eyes.
commencing sleep to come to me
and turn my back to light.
but with a tiny flashlight
I continue with my day
hours past a sunshine fraction
I sit and knit or play.
The silver light is just as good
My thoughts are just as bright
My eyes rome corners of my room
Are monsters out tonight?
I've written, spoken, found a token
cleaned, digested, baked and questioned...
and MY its late the stars are yawning
Day is fast approaching, dawning.
With little pride, no bravery
I ponder this one thing;
Why must I treat the day like night
And trade sun for silver rings?

  • A Space Among The Stars

To live in a space among the stars
    I'd have to get binoculars
To see the dentist on the moon
And find the next Uber at noon.
To live in a space among the stars
I'd have to float to school in cars.
  • Frost

    Its fingers were hot
    and cold and
    sweet and dark.
    All at the same time.

    Sleeeeep.

    It whispered in her ear.
    Her petals shivered.
    Its breath ran slowly
    down
    her stem and
    tickled a leaf.
