Seasonal
I swear my family is crazy. It's 8 days away from Halloween and they decide that it's a great day to go apple picking. I’m pretty sure apple picking is a September thing not a late October thing. Anyway, we get to the apple orchard and once we get out of the car it proves my point, it’s cold. So we start picking apples and I get more and more annoyed because almost all of them are on the ground and not in the trees. So I move away to a different row of trees to see if there are better apples and to get away from my family for a bit. I do find some better apples, so I get enough to fill my bag. In the late afternoon it's starting to get dark already, so I head back towards my family. I duck under a tree and get an unsettling feeling since my family is gone. I look up and down the rows of trees. It's hard to see all the way down in the fading light but I decide I dont see anyone. Now I am worried, I don't know what to do. I head back in the direction of the building where we paid. Once I get there I ask the cashier if my family has come back through. He says he doesn't know but he doesn't remember seeing them. I decided to wait at the buildings for them nervously looking into the trees the whole time.
After 10 mins of waiting I realized they could be looking for me in the orchard. I rush back into the trees going row by row looking for my family. I start calling out their names. No it's too dark to see down the whole rows and it got colder too, the wind picked up and now I’m shivering, from being cold or scared I'm not sure. I keep calling for them and in the fifth row I hear a response. I can't see anyone but I run as fast as I can towards the sound and soon my family comes into view. So together we walk back through the cold, dark rows of trees to the car. We get home and the next day we all have apple pie.
