My parents thought I was nothing
More than an inconvenience in their world.
In this place I thought I'd be much more than that,
But they all push me away as well.
They say someone like me can't
Do it better than society.
I'll try to stand my ground
And turn the tables back around.
I know I'll never win this battle
On my own.
My friends are there for me out of pity—
They never really loved me.
So here I am on my own
In a world where I though I wouldn't be alone
Anymore.
I never thought I'd see you running back home.
I'm no longer shaking away the thought
Of your standard spearmint toothpaste.
You say, "Here's my confession."
I'm your most prized possession
And they'll say what they want, and try to change who you are.
But I don't care anymore how I need to "learn my lesson"
Because in the end, you are my heaven—
My most prized possession.
