play plot

The plot of the play is as followed:
Two cell mates, Burkit and Durwin who are imprisoned in a castle dungeon, find out King Sawyer Udolf is moving many prisoners to another castle dungeon out east, to make more room. The two protagonists will be part of the move.
This is problematic because the Eastern castle supposedly is the most horrid dungeon in the area, and both characters have personal reasons for why they don't want to go. Burkit convinces his cell mate Durwin to escape with him. The two devise a plan to escape the King's corrupt ruling and escape.
The only way to escape is by getting the ring of keys from Algernon, the prison supervisor. Without the keys the two can not bypass the dudgeons' many doors and gates, and will get caught and punished for trying to escape.
Burkit and Durwin concoct three plans to steal the keys. They first dress as minstrels, but Algernon asks them to play and they sing terrible. Then as chefs, where Algernon asks them to cook dinner for him and the prisoners but everyone hates the food. In desperation on the third day the two dress up as the kings daughters. They almost grab the keys, but are foiled when Burkit's wig falls off in a comical scene, and Algernon is humiliated. This is when the supervisor is most furious with the two.
Algernon threatens death to anyone caught trying to escape, and promises Burkit and Durwin will get the worst dungeon room in the East castle. Then a guard comes to escort them to the east. Durwin quickly devises a plan to bypass the guard and escape as a last resort, but Burkit has lost all hope and doesn't help so that Durwin gets injured. They argue again before Durwin is taken away as Burkit betrayed his friends trust.
As Burkit vents in his cell he finds a gold hair pin. He uses it to unlock his cell and is about to run away by himself. He then thinks of how selfish he was to Durwin, and has a change of heart, running off to free his best friend, and everyone else in the dungeon.
The story ends with Algernon and King Sawyer getting run out of the castle. Burkit and Durwin meet again and Burkit tells him how he escapes. The pin was something Durwin stole long ago, and they two make up with a promising carefree furure ahead of them.

To live in a space among the stars
    I'd have to get binoculars
To see the dentist on the moon
And find the next Uber at noon.
To live in a space among the stars
I'd have to float to school in cars.

    Its fingers were hot
    and cold and
    sweet and dark.
    All at the same time.

    Sleeeeep.

    It whispered in her ear.
    Her petals shivered.
    Its breath ran slowly
    down
    her stem and
    tickled a leaf.
