In the Park on a Breezy Day

In the park
the breeze blows
gently 
cooling my face
teasing my hair
and then
the breeze 
becomes mischievious 
picking things up
and blowing them around

At the hot dog stand
the breeze blows
playfully
picking up the napkins
carrying them away
and then
the hot dog man
gives chase
reaching for them
as they whirl through the air

At the park bench
the breeze blows
merrily
taking hold of a child's balloon
tearing it from her hand
but then
the child's mother
reaches up
snatching the balloon
before it takes to the skies

Along the path
the breeze blows
gustily 
seizing people's hats
and tossing them to the ground
and then
the people
give chase
laughing as their hats
are plucked from their heads

Through the park
the breeze blows
cheerfully
teasing the people
as they go about their day
and they
happily oblige
laughing 
as the wind steals their things
and merrily pursuing
